Borea Construction

This is a multi-year project that kicked-off in 2019. It includes the construction of new access roads, upgrades to existing roads in the area, a temporary laydown area, site preparation for a substation, excavation and backfill for the foundation of 83 wind turbines, excavation of utility trenches, and the construction of crane pads for wind turbine assembly. Road maintenance is part of the project. Work includes topsoil stripping, placing, and common excavation of approximately 400,000m3 of material.

Cavan Lake Canal Headworks Pipe Drop and Canal REHABILITAtioN

Alberta Transportation

Removed three existing pipe drop structures and installed 120m of new 1600mm HDPE between between case-in-place inlet and outfall structures. Constructed one rock drop structure, three pipe drop structures, and improvements on two drain inlet structures. Rehabilitated the canal and its embankments. Developed service roads with new fencing and Texas gates. Care of water and cofferdam were required for this project. Stripped and placed 70,000m3 of topsoil, compacted the embankment, and managed wet/borrow excavation area. The project was completed in 2021.

Jenner Solar Project

Borea Construction

This project included the construction of new access roads, upgrades to existing roads in the area, and site preparation of approximately 168 acres, plus the maintenance of the roads during the contract. Work included topsoil stripping, placing, and common excavation of approximately 350,000m3 of material. The project was completed in 2020.

Between 2004 and 2018 we built over 1,000 lease sites and hundreds of kilometers of new access roads, as well as upgrades to existing roads in the area. Lease sizes varied from 80m x 80m to 250m x 250m. Work included topsoil stripping, stockpiling, placing, and excavation.
